MULLEIN

Mullein is for the lungs, lung hemorrhages, tissue repair and internal irritations. This familiar tall, single-stemmed, yellow flowering Mullein is seen flowering in the second year of its life span. Mullein can grow as high as six feet. The flowering spike at the top of the plant carries numerous, small, simple, soft, yellow flowers. The entire plant is active herbally.

So pervasive and familiar was the use of Mullein in early America, one of the Missouri pioneers named Helderman, was heard to offer this valuable advice to his young grandson: Young sprout, you see that plant [mullein] over there? That'll heal about anything. Indeed, Mullein can be brought into service to heal many different broken and torn structures of the body.

Even for a seemingly hopeless condition such as a painful, suppurating [weeping] varicose vein there is hope for more than the typical advice of, well it's just your age. You are just going to have to go home and learn to live with it. To repair such a problem, apply Vitamin E with Selenium from 100 i.u. capsules around the area, then Arnica, Oil of Cajeput and Herbal Adjustment.

Next, soak a layer of absorbent gauze or natural fiber cheese cloth with half Knitbone and half Mullein. Lay this over the area, then cover with plastic sandwich wrap and then wrap with a final cloth to hold all in place. Leave on overnight and change each morning and night. Wash the area and allow to dry before putting on a fresh application.

Persist until well. Mullein is a remedy for air pollution and damage to the lungs. As further proof of its pollution converting properties, you can often see it growing near expressways and interstate highways making good clean oxygen out of the hydrocarbon pollution. Nature often puts the remedy near the problem. Long before there were roads or paved highways, the Native American peoples smoked Mullein leaves to relieve lung congestion.

Mullein may be used to improve the strength and vigor of the whole body, and especially for shortness of breath, asthma, colds, nerve disorders and heart conditions. Venereal disease in women, with or without bleeding, find in Mullein a valuable remedy. Childhood headaches and epilepsy respond surely to Mullein's favorable energies.

Dose | For general use, 40 drops three times per day, after meals. For severe cases of shortness of breath and asthma, 40 drops per hour, every hour, while awake. Also, twice daily, rub Mullein Extract over entire chest and back along with Vitamin E with Selenium from 100 i.u. capsules followed by Herbal Adjustment and Oil of Cajeput. Avoid contact with eyes and private areas.

Note | For children's doses, a good rule of thumb or general rule is, one drop as a dose for children one year old and under. Add one drop per additional year, for example, 3 years old = 3 drops. Of course, a child's dose can be repeated, as needed, to obtain the needed results, especially in times of crisis. Children are not all alike. They are individuals.

Therefore, some children need much more of an herb or herbal combination then others, but, we do not wish to overdo a good thing, therefore, it is best to use the gradual approach, as time permits, to ascertain the best amounts needed for the individual child.
